Where is God sad in the Bible?
Psalm 34:18 promises us that “the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” How can you be close to someone who is brokenhearted and not feel their pain? If we are made in the image of God and we feel sorrow and cry, then I believe that God does too.
What does the Bible say about God’s grief?
The Good News: God will never abandon us during our times of grief — he will always provide us with love and hope. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Did God ever regret?

Why did God give us emotions?
God gave humans emotions to prompt us to do something. And since God says that all of the commandments hang upon loving God and loving others (Mat 22:37-39), I know that emotions help us live in healthy relationships and stay connected to God and others.
Is God God emotional?
The idea that God has emotions seems so natural that most people who believe in gods never question it. The God of the Bible gets angry, has regrets, gets lonely, loves, has loyalties, is jealous, feels compassion, and is vindictive. In the incarnation of Jesus, he also is afraid and weeps.
What God says about widows?
The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. My comfort in my suffering is this; Your promise preserves my life. Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.
Can prayer change God’s will?
“I the Lord do not change.” (Malachi 3:6) The idea of praying to change God’s will is presumptuous. Jesus set the example in Gethsemane when He prayed for God’s will to be done, not His own. Perhaps prayer should be used not to change God’s will but to discover his will, then conform our will to His.
Why does God look at the heart?
God looks at the motives of the heart for evidence of righteousness in our hearts. Our motives reveal who we are living for and the things we care about. When God searches the heart He can see the “why” behind our thoughts and choices. The Bible tells us that God judges the intents of the hearts (see Hebrews 4:14).
Why is the heart important to God?
A heart that is healthy pumps the right amount of blood at a rate that allows the human body to function as God created. So I think it’s safe to say that the human heart is one of the most important organs God placed within our bodies.

Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.
