What causes clutch fluid leak?
Worn master cylinder seals – Your car’s clutch master cylinder has seals that prevent fluid from leaking out. These seals will degrade over time, which may eventually resulting in them leaking brake fluid from above and around the clutch pedal. Over time, the hose can tear, causing brake fluid to leak out.

Can oil leak onto clutch?
Oil on the clutch plate almost always comes from a rear main seal leak, but it could also come from a loose or leaking oil gallery plug or oil pan. While oil from other places may leak into the transmission bellhousing from other sources, odd are good that it won’t be enough to penetrate the clutch disc.
Why is my clutch slave cylinder leaking fluid?
Aluminum is weaker than cast iron, and often the cylinder bore distorts and warps over time from the high hydraulic pressures. This causes fluid to bypass the seals and the cylinder to be inoperable. If the seals have apparently failed, install a new piston, snap ring and dust cap.
How do you fix a leaking clutch cylinder?
Install the slave cylinder, leave the bleeder valve open and add fluid to the clutch master cylinder. When fluid begins to seep from the bleeder valve, close it. Have an assistant operate the clutch pedal several times then keep pressure against it. Crack open the bleeder valve. A mixture of air and fluid will escape.
Why is fluid coming out of clutch cable?
One more thing to check is the trans vent tube. It’s an inverted “J” between the inner primary and trans and if it’s blocked, the pressure will push the trans lube up the cable and leak where you see it coming out. Click to expand… Click to expand… Thanks.
