How do you know if the implant is broken?
Signs that your silicone implant has ruptured can include changes in breast shape and size, and increasing pain, firmness, and swelling over a period of weeks. Rupture can also cause capsular contracture. Silicone implant rupture that doesn’t cause any noticeable symptoms is known as “silent rupture.”
Can the contraceptive implant get damaged?

Can I get pregnant if my implant breaks?
Implants stop working once they are removed and their hormones do not remain in the woman’s body. Implant use does not affect a woman’s ability to become pregnant, although fertility decreases with a woman’s age.

The implant can be removed at any time by a specially trained doctor or nurse. It only takes a few minutes to remove, and a local anaesthetic will be used. The doctor or nurse will make a tiny cut in your skin to gently pull the implant out.
Is a ruptured implant an emergency?
Although the rupture of implant is not an emergency, it is important to have a replacement surgery in the nearest possible future in order to reduce the amount of pocket collapse and possible formation of internal scar tissue (capsular contracture).
Should you take a break from the implant?
There is no medical need to have a break from hormones, and it’s safe to be on hormonal contraception as long as you want to (unless you health changes). Even if hormonal contraception changes the pattern of periods, fertility will come back once contraception is stopped.
