One of the most widely used rage comic faces is the Trollface, drawn by Oakland artist Carlos Ramirez in 2008. Originally posted in a comic to his DeviantArt account Whynne about Internet trolling on 4chan, the trollface is a recognizable image of Internet memes and culture.

The character was created by u/Unfunnyman123 on the subreddit r/196 and also spawned its own subreddit with 1.8k members and it’s own official Discord. It’s voice actor for said meme it’s unknown, leading many fans to create their own Trollge videos using commonly heard text-to-speech audio-files.

Trollface was drawn in Microsoft Paint on September 19, 2008, by Carlos Ramirez, an 18-year-old Oakland college student. The image was published on Ramirez’s DeviantArt page, “Whynne”, as part of a rage comic titled Trolls, about the pointless nature of trolling.
When was Trollface popular?
In the following months, Ramirez’s drawing quickly gained traction on 4chan as the universal emoticon of an internet troll and a versatile rage comic character. From 4chan, Trollface spread to Reddit and Urban Dictionary in 2009, eventually reaching other internet image-sharing sites like Imgur and Facebook.
What happened to Trollge?
As we can see the Trollge covered in oil in the forest, an unknown person records it while getting found by the monster. But then the rain comes and the Trollge disappears, presumably flying away.
