How fast can I stretch my ears?
Stretching your ears can take months or years, depending on how large you want them to be. During this time, your ear will be sensitive. However, they should never be painful or stressed. A good rule of thumb is to go up one gauge size every four to six weeks.
How big can I stretch my ears if I want to go back out eventually?
Most people can go between 2g (6mm) – 00g (10mm) and expect their ears to revert back to a normal piercing, after a few months of healing. If you want don’t want stretched ears forever, be sure to stretch slowly and never skip sizes.
Can I stretch my ears every month?
It’s highly recommended to wait at least a full month between each stretch and to never skip sizes so your ears will have minimal chances for long term problems. Also the slower you go, the thicker and healthier your ears will be in the long run (which is really important if you plan on going to a large size).
How long do gauges take to close?
Once it fits properly, go down another size until you reach the smallest gauge. Once you reach this point, your hole should be able to close on its own. This entire process usually takes at least 2 months. You can also help your ears along the road to healing by cleaning and massaging them with oils and moisturizers.
Is ear stretching permanent?
Almost any hole in the ear eventually doesn’t close. So, for the people stretching their ear holes with the gauges, it’s a permanent thing.
Do stretched ears shrink back?
If you stretch your lobe to 00g or smaller, you are a much better candidate for your ear going back to “normal”. If you stretched your ear a year ago or a few months ago, your ear has a much better chance of shrinking back to its original size than if it has been stretched and fully healed for several years.
How can I make my ears stretch faster?
Pre stretch To prepare your ears for stretching, apply a warm compress to the piercing for several minutes in order to ease up the tissue and make the stretch easier. Then, wash the area, rinse well and pat dry. Once you’re ready for the stretch, apply oil around the perimeter of your piercing.
