Can you enter dance competitions without a studio?

Dancers are allowed to come compete without their full studio present but they must be registered for our event under their studio name by the studio director.

How do national dance competitions work?

Dance schools bring their students to compete. Judges, usually dance teachers or choreographers, score each piece on the spot, often out of 100 points. At the end of the day, winners receive titles and trophies. Each competition bestows its own regional titles, and bigger events also offer national ones.

Does KAR dance competition live stream?

– KAR does not offer live streams at regional competitions. Photos and video footage of the dancers will be available to view on our website after the event. Only KAR Live events offer live streams of the final Showcase.

Do you win money at dance competitions?

As a general rule, competitions hand the winnings to studio directors or owners. At my studio, any prize money won for solos, duets and trio performances goes to the dancers.

Our National Dance Competitions are a celebration of dance where performers will get a chance to make new friends from around the country, compete for top CASH prizes, perform on our National Dance Team, and learn from some of the best dance professionals in the industry.

  • What is title at a dance competition?

    Most competitions have opportunities for dancers to win title positions. Titles include Mr. and Miss Dance for petites (ages commonly 8 & under), juniors (ages 9-11), teens (12-14), and seniors (15-19). These competitions normally include dancers who choose to pay an extra fee to run for title.
