Does it matter what side the PCV valve is on?
the PCV valve can be on either valve cover but should be the highest point in the front, because hot air rises and you want efficient scavenging of the vapors. Conversely, you want the breather to be as much opposite the PCV location, so rear most (and lowest) point on the valve covers.
Where do the vacuum lines go on a Holley carb?
First, the vacuum advance module on the distributor should be attached to the small hose nipple in the base plate of the carburetor so as to pull manifold vacuum thus giving full vacuum distributor advance at idle.
Where does PCV valve hook up to?
A hose connects the top of the (PCV) valve to a vacuum port on the throttle body; carburetor or intake manifold. Allowing the vapors to be siphoned directly into the engine.
Where do you hook up a PCV valve?
Most PCV valves hook up to the manifold or the base of the carb.
How do you hook up a PCV valve?
How to Change a Vehicle’s PCV Valve
- Locate the PCV valve and loosen the hose clamp if there is one, or pull the little L-shaped housing off the end of the valve.
- Remove the valve.
- Check the hose and the hose clamps or grommet.
- Screw in the new valve.
- Reconnect the hose to the PCV valve.
Is the CARB better for a PCV valve?
Yes, the carb is better for the pcv valve because it’ll distribute the vapors to multiple cylinders instead of just one or two. Did you pull a cap off that vacuum port or was it open?
Where is the PCV valve on a Camaro?
The car is 78 z28 camaro with 350 engine and 650 holley carb. My question is about the PCV valve connection. The valve is working properly one way going out from the valve cover. it is located on the passenger side and the breather is on the driver side.
Is it OK to connect the PCV valve to the brake booster hose?
The PCV valve now has vacuum from the line of the brake booster. Is it ok to connect the PCV valve to the brake booster vacuum hose that goes inside the manifold? Do not “T” it into the power brake line, you will loose your power brakes. If the car is stock, there should be more then one large vacum fitting on the carb.
Can a vacuum booster leak from a PCV valve?
By the way my brake booster vacuum line has one way check valve vacuum pressure going to manifold from brake booster so there is no way that mist oil would enter to the booster. And because of the check valve it maintain the vacuum pressure of the booster. PCV is a metered leak and certainly not a good place to T vacuum assist brakes.
