Halo Wars, an upcoming real-time strategy game based on the Halo franchise, is going to be very multiplayer-friendly. Even more exciting for fans of co-op — my multiplayer mode of choice — is that the game will include a campaign mode for two players.

Unfortunately, at this point in time Halo Wars 2 does not contain a split screen option. You’ll need to stick with Xbox Live and online for now, in order to play campaign co-op and multiplayer modes. It’s not likely we’ll see split screen patched in, as RTS games don’t generally have that kind of feature.

Playing co-op is incredibly easy to do, though both you and your friend need to own a copy of Halo Wars 2. When at the main menu, just hit the X button and you’ll bring up your friends list, and then you’ll get the option to send an invitation.
