How do you know if EBPV is open or closed?
Usually the problem that occurs with the EBPV is it starts leaking oil or gets stuck closed (usually in colder weather). However, if it is stuck closed you will know it because it renders the truck almost undrivable and makes a really loud whooshing sound.
Where is the exhaust back pressure valve on 7.3 Powerstroke?
The EBP sensor is located in a confined space between the serpentine belt and high pressure oil pump (front of engine). The EBPS on the 7.3L Power Stroke is located near the front of the engine, just in front of the high pressure oil pump. You’ll need to remove the plastic engine cover in order to gain access.
What does a exhaust back pressure sensor do?
The sensor is there to tell the PCM when the exhaust pressure it asked for has been reached (this is called feedback control), so the PCM can ease the valve open and maintain that pressure.
How do I know if my 7.3 turbo is bad?

- WHINING ENGINE.

How do I know if my 7.3 injectors are bad?
Check the exhaust smoke from your vehicle. White smoke is normal when starting your vehicle, but white smoke when driving indicates that there is a loose injector. Black smoke emission can also be normal when accelerating the vehicle, but if you notice black smoke at other times, this indicates a bad fuel injector.
How do you start a 6.0 diesel after running out of fuel?
Prime the fuel system by turning the ignition on (Run position) for 30 seconds, but do not start the engine. This allows the pump to prime the system. Turn the ignition off, and then crank it for 15 seconds. If it does not start, repeat the first task and this one until it starts (cycle the key).
