What was Gloucester docks used for?
Gloucester Docks operated as a port although they were inland. Large ships as well as canal barges could get to the docks via the River Severn and Sharpness canal. This part of the Docks is now mainly used for leisure. There is a Waterways museum and a Shopping Outlet centre.
