In 2016, Chichester High School for Boys merged with Chichester High School for Girls, to become just Chichester High School. This occurred after speculation that the two schools would merge, starting from 2014. The new school would adopt purple as its main colour, replacing the previous boys’ school green and girls’ school navy.
When did Lancastrian School for girls become Chichester High School?
In 1971, an amalgamation occurred between CHSB and Lancastrian School for Boys, as well as CHSG with Lancastrian School for Girls. Both the boys and girls schools took on the Chichester High School’s names. The main building of CHSG, The Stockbridge, was used until 2002. The school then moved to the Kingsham Avenue site.
